Admittedly I clicked "I Agree" to a bunch of things I didn't understand in my need for Internet, one of those things might have been "don't mess with the modem" but I didn't check this as I anticipated receiving a dumb modem and being able to purchase my own tomato router (like the previous poster) myself. Do you happen to know if this clause is actually included in the Kabel Deutschland agreement or is this just forum policy?

Yes it is, because of the Fact that the Modem you have is not your Property, Kabel Deutschland provided the Modem to you, you have to return it when your Contract ends. If you want only WiFi, you can buy a WiFi Accesspoint, the Hitron "Modem" is not a "dumb Modem" its a Router.

Additionally, if he dislikes the dispatched modem, he might want to ask the support to dispatch a replacement which should, in fact, be an ordinary modem (Cisco EPC 3212 for Docsis 3, or a THG/Ubee/Whatever for Docsis 2).

Könnte mir jemand die Bedeutung der LEDs an der Rückseite (LAN 1-4) erleutern? Zeigen die die Verbindungsgeschwindigkeit an? Je nachdem was ich anschliesse brennt entweder die grüne oder die gelbe.
Ihr könnte mir auch gerne die passende Seite im Handbuch mitteilen, falls ich das nur nicht gefunden habe

Die gelbe Farbe zeigt eine 100MBit Verbindung an, die grüne eine Verbindung mit GBit. Das ganze kannst du auch im Status der jeweiligen LAN Verbindung sehen, dort steht dann auch entweder 100MBit oder GBit.

Moin Moin,

da ich seit einiger Zeit auch das "schöne" Gerät habe und nun mein NAS auch von ausserhalb erreichen wollte (habe keine IPv6-Adresse und wohne in Lübeck, falls es jmd interessiert ) und ich hier diverse Threads durchgelesen habe, werde ich KD belästigen, mir ein normales Modem zu schicken. Hatte anfangs eh ein paar Probleme, aber ich glaube eher, dass es an meinem alten linksys e4200 mit dd-wrt lag. Mit dem e4200 v2 kam ich nämlich sofort ins Internet, bei v1 ging entweder nur lan oder wlan, beides zugleich nicht.
Aber zurück zu meiner eigentlichen Frage:

Gibt es etwas, was man denen genau mitteilen sollte, damit die Chance möglichst hoch ist, tatsächlich ein normales Modem zu bekommen?
